Visioning Glasgow: A Call to Action

On 4 February 2026, more than seventy architects and built‑environment professionals gathered at Adelaide Place for Visioning Glasgow - A Call to Action, a highly collaborative workshop hosted by the Glasgow Institute of Architects (GIA) and the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS), facilitated by the Scottish Futures Trust and supported by Glasgow City Council.

The event revealed the depth of creative energy and breadth of imagination driving Glasgow's future, with participants producing bold sketches, diagrams, narratives and enabling ideas that speak to a confident next chapter for the city. These outputs have been collected in the Visioning Glasgow: A Call to Action collected findings, available to download here.

This is only the beginning. Participants—and anyone inspired by the future of Glasgow - are invited to continue sharing sketches, concepts, provocations and reflections at citycentrestrategy@glasgow.gov.uk.

All contributions sent before mid-March will be credited and will feed into an exhibition/booklet or digital content curated by GIA. This work will be showcased and directly inform discussions at the next Develop Glasgow event on 1 April, which will focus on enhancing the visibility of investment and development opportunities in the city centre. Further details will be announced soon.

The curated material will also support Glasgow's presence on national and international stages throughout 2026. It will help shape conversations on the city centre at MIPIM, UKREiiF, and the British Council for Offices Conference in June, demonstrating Glasgow's creative energy and signalling clearly that the city is ready for investment.
