With the news that Glasgow City Council may soon begin charging for tours of the City Chambers, join the GIA Conservation Committee for a free guided tour of the principal spaces. Using over ten million bricks in the construction, the city’s civic centre was won in competition by Paisley-born William Young and begun in 1883. Construction took five years, with polished granite, faience, veined marbles, hardwoods and mosaic all seen. Numbers limited to 25.
We will meet in the main foyer at 12 Noon. See you there!
