GIA Building Visit; Provand’s Lordship

Join the GIA Conservation Committee on the second of this summer's CPD events and hear from conservation architect Scott Abercrombie of John Gilbert Architects about the forensic research that led to the decision to apply new lime harling to the much-loved medieval Provand's Lordship.  

2024 winner of a Glasgow Institute of Architects Design Award, the building had been much altered in the past (1670 and then 1906), unsympathetically strengthened, and was for a period of time closed to the public.  Now an exemplar promoting traditional materials and skills. 

Numbers limited to 20, no PPE required.  Meet at 12.30 p.m. on Thursday 24 July 2025 at the front entrance on Cathedral Street.
