Join the GIA for a visit to the Eastworks building in Dalmarnock, which was awarded a Conservation award in the GIA awards 2023.
The £9m Eastworks project preserves and rethinks a prominent structure from the area’s Victorian industrial past, providing five creative work spaces supporting Dalmarnock’s ongoing regeneration.
The structure, dating from 1843, formerly functioned as a gas purifier shed and meter house as part of the 2.3Ha South Dalmarnock gasworks site, with its entire north-facing elevation open to the elements and in need of significant repair.
The phased refurbishment, benefitting from a collaborative phased approach, introduces an insulted envelope, modern east elevation and a series of meticulous interventions that foster light-filled workspaces, celebrating the building's history.
We will hear from Clyde Gateway and members of the project team from Inch and Sheppard Robson as to the origins and development of this great project.
