GUEST Judge:
Darragh Breathnach - DUA
We are delighted to have Darragh as our guest head judge this year to ensure that the judging team are kept in line and that the standards are maintained in the process of working through what we expect to be a high quality spread of work from within our chapter.
DUA - Design Urbanism Architecture is a multi-disciplinary architectural practice founded by Darragh Breathnach in 2015.
Prior to this Darragh spent two years in Spain working for RCR Arquitectes, winners of the 2017 Pritzker Prize for Architecture, and upon returning to Ireland working with award-winning Irish practice ODOS Architects.
Breaking from the traditional path of most emerging architects, that of producing predominately domestic projects, DUA have established themselves with a number of highly visible and finely crafted commercial works. Among these is a series of fit-outs for Bear Market, a Dublin-based chain of cafés.
DUA’s work is creating waves at national and international levels. Following on from being highly commended in the RIAI Future Award 2017 and being the only Irish architect featured in Wallpaper* magazine’s Architects’ Directory in 2017, DUA were the winners of the RIAI Fit-Out Award in 2018 for Triggerfish Cookshop in Blackrock, Co. Dublin.
