Connecting the Seven Lochs Wetland Park
Within this short design entry, I propose a further ‘Opportunities Study’ into abandoned spaces within Easterhouse to set a typology for integrating these fringe spaces into the into the Wetlands Park. This typology can be used when integrating further residential projects around the Park. Within this context, I also propose an ecological, practical and meaningful connection across the M74 for people and wildlife. The woodland connection is emphasised in this proposal to ensure a level of detail in design. It will also include a cycle and pedestrian connection both sunken and raised within the tree canopy of the woodland crossing.
The placement of the bridge and the overall strategy for post-resedential spaces in Easterhouse will form a strong catalyst for regeneration in the area.
