Call for new GIA Council Members
Jan 31, 2012 on GIA
The Glasgow Institute of Architects (GIA) is looking for new Council Members to be approved in at the AGM on February 15th 2012.
The GIA Council comprises a collection of architects and like minded people, who are self motivated and interested in supporting the promotion of architecture and the profession within the RIAS Glasgow Chapter.
We have several vacancies at council level and across all the committees and would welcome new, and returning, interested members to become involved in the workings of the GIA.
Our committees are:
Architecture, People and Places – engaging with the wider community and matters relating to policy on design; running GIA design competitions
Communications – running the website, annual Design Awards and dinner; keeping GIA members up to date on the website and newsletters
Conservation and Sustainability – promoting good practice in conservation architecture and in sustainable design; representing the chapter members in these specialist fields
Education – engaging with students of architecture, hosting the annual Student Awards and triennial Alexander Thomson Travelling Scholarship
Practice and CPD – organising regular events for cpd and providing practice information
If you are interested in joining Council, or to find out more information, please email president@gia.org.uk in advance of the AGM.
